A boy and his small toy.

Fern.

I was out on photo snapping trip to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve. Mannn, the people who took pictures of the wildlife there had cameras that would probably cost a whole year of my pay. With super macro lens that was as huge as their own children they brought along!

This gives me the drive to save even more for that DSLR camera I would hope to own one day. Until then, here is a pic of a fern I snapped using my crappy camera of mine. I didnt take many shots of the fauna over at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve cos I could not zoom close enough to get good quality shots of them. Couple of insects which I would post over a period of time. :)

One has to make do with what one has. Im still snapping pics though, crappy camera or not. Haha! Until I get the DSLR!

Pasir Ris Park. Never knew nature thrives there.

Had my trip to Pasir Ris Park and Beach to snap pics. Here are some of the best shots i took today! That place had mangrove boardwalk trails, the beach and more plant nurseries! Teeming with life in it! Enjoy!

The Common Tree Nymph (Idea stolli logani)

These are pictures of butterflies I took when i was walking in the Fragile Forest in Singapore Zoological Gardens. None of the butterflies run from you, but would instead fly right up to you! It almost seems magical!

Newest member of family

Photobucket

A month back.. I posted a picture of a pair of Olive Backed Sunbirds making a home right out my door. Today.. I finally got to see their end product! A little chick has hatched from the egg and its now constantly being fed by its busy proud parents! Always perching on my windows, plants and railings every 10 minutes with food.

I hope to be there for the little chicks first flight. And then.. no more.

Mysterious

I grow plants outside my home without knowing what they are. This one is seriously bugging me because I have no clue what plants they are. At all. Someone who knows, please let me know. Thank you.

The City

My city in Black and White. I had thought of wanting to use colors, but decide on black and white instead.

Home Sweet Home.

I had the honor of having a pair of olive backed sunbirds making a nest just outside my house. Exactly in the middle of our door. And we moved the nest a little higher so that they don't disrupt our way and we don't disrupt their little family building time. I got myself super excited when I found out they had eggs already in the nest just a day ago.

So armed with a camera.. I snapped away. I couldn't capture the eggs though, because it was far inside the nest, and I did not want to disturb their peace. I will take more pictures once the eggs have hatched and tiny heads and open beaks start peeking out through the nest! Can't wait!

Photobucket

The male species, being more colourful, has the olive/metallic green spot under their heads, at the neck area, hence their name. Picture quality was bad cos I had to zoom in x12 and I didn't have a tripod.
Photobucket

This was a lucky shot. The female bird perched right outside my room, overlooking my plants when they found out I disturbed their nest to peek in and see the eggs. She kept a close guard, but still kept a distance. Again, picture is blurred cos there was no tripod used.

Photobucket

Their home sweet home. Notice the door at the background. The nest used to be lower, and blocked our way in and out of the house. So we had to shift it a little further up. Hope they don't notice anything unusual. lol.

Lights on me.

Im beginning to have a lack of subjects to take. So I am playing around with Photoshop to make things look a lil more interesting.

Dear Nico

Photobucket

Dear Nico,
I have been wanting to tell you this for the longest time but haven't been able to. My addiction to you is astronomical. I had wanted to call off our relationship. Break it up. But its just so friggin difficult.

Dear Nico,
You were there for me all the time. You were with me before and after I go on stage rocking it out. You were there for me before and after sex. You were there for me through good times and the bad.

But you are too high of a maintenance. Just recently, you hiked up your market value again.

Dear Nico,
You drain me of my finance. You drain me of my health. You drain me of my stamina for my performances. But yet I still look for you. And when I break it off with you time and again, you seem to be so nonchalant about it, but it was me who ended up crawling back to you. You accepted me back with open arms.. Too open I guess.

So dear Nico,
I want to break off our relationship once more. I know you won't miss me, but I will. Let's hope I don't come begging for our reunion once more.

With Love,
livingthroughstills.

Morning Glories

As you can see, I am pretty excited about my new blooms. And I have much to confirm that I am growing morning glories right outside my home. They open in the day, and close at night. If anyone else can confirm with me what they are, I would be majorly thankful!

And I think I take better pictures during the day, probably due to the sucky camera I have. Am trying my very best to save enough to get myself a good SLR camera. Which one, I am not entirely sure yet. I am fairly new, and I have taken a liking to macro photography. Perhaps someone can recommend me a good setup?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Anyway, here are day and night shots for my flowers. I had to crop out the night pictures due to the fact that I cannot seem to focus well at night. There was too much dark sky space in the original. Lighting proved a major problem cos my camera couldn't capture it enough, and I cannot adjust shutter speeds for my camera. I had to shoot a lil further away due to my use of flash. I did not want the subject matter to be too bright, and cause only a white image for the end result, without capturing the color of the flowers.

In full bloom!

Photobucket

I awoke this morning, to find yet another one of my plants in bloom! Flowers are purple, and they kinda look like morning glories. I had no idea what I planted. lol. And there were 3 flowers in total! All fully bloomed and had their petals fully open!

I am so excited to find out what fruits I would get from them!

Just so you know, I didn't intentionally break the PSP to snap this. For some reason, my friend still refuse to repair the screen after he smashed them. And I thought it be a nice collection to my photographs, capturing each intricate shatter as a whole design, even though the PSP no longer serves its purpose.

A Grand Design

This was taken last year, with my Nokia 6288 phone. As you can see, the picture is a little noisy. But stil managed to capture the majesty of the clouds. I loved the formations that day. Taking pictures of the sky is one of my favourites!

The end of the road.

Photobucket

Sunset at the Bidadari cemetery.

The gloomy road gave me the inspiration to take a snapshot, due to the location I was at. This was the day I broke up with my love one, and it was ironic that we were at the cemetery, where death surrounds us. The sunset marked the end of the day, as how it marked the end of my relationship.
